personalfinance is a personal, non-commercial budgeting and financial analytics tool. It is used only by its owner, to view and analyze the owner's own financial accounts. It is not offered, sold, or made available to anyone else. It runs on the owner's home server and can be reached only from the owner's home network.
With the owner's consent, the application uses Plaid Technologies, Inc. ("Plaid") to retrieve information from the owner's connected financial accounts. This can include account names and balances, transactions, investment and retirement account holdings, and loan or liability details. The owner may also upload transaction files exported from their own Apple Card account.
The data is used only to give the owner budgeting, spending, saving, investment, and debt analysis.
Accounts are connected only through Plaid Link, where the owner explicitly authorizes each connection. Plaid's handling of data is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
- Data is stored only on the owner's home server, whose drives use full-disk encryption.
- Plaid access tokens are encrypted at rest.
- The application requires passkey sign-in, and all connections to it and to Plaid use TLS 1.2 or higher.
- The application is not reachable from the internet.
Data is never sold, rented, shared, or disclosed to any third party.
Data is kept only while the application is in use, and transaction history for at most 7 years. When an account is disconnected, or the project ends, the application revokes access through Plaid and deletes the related data from the server.
